Leadership

Boulder 2140 is an affiliate group of the Boulder Chamber that meets the needs and interests of a new generation of business profession
als by investing in the community’s future leaders. A volunteer-driven group launched in February 2009, Boulder 2140 has hosted over 40 events for more than 1,000 young professionals in the Boulder area.
Boulder 2140 hosts two to three events each month with a focus on professional development, philanthropy, and social and cultural opportunities.
Governance Structure
Boulder 2140’s Board of Directors develops the group’s strategic focus and oversees the work of the Social & Philanthropy, Professional Development, and Marketing & PR Committees.
The marketing committee is the heart of Boulder 2140. This is where you’ll find everything from social media to graphic design to advertising – marketing covers it all. The committee also manages Boulder 2140′s website, newsletter, e-blasts, LinkedIn page, blog, photography, and copy writing.
Professional Development Committee
Offering meaningful educational opportunities which target the development of skills critical to achieving professional excellence, the Professional Development Committee seeks to support and encourage Boulder’s emerging leaders. We host an informal monthly lunch series, bringing together Boulder 2140 members and an established leader within the community. Our speakers deliver relevant topics to a small group of young professionals; this creates powerful networking opportunities and fosters a sense of community among today’s young leaders. Past presenters have included Brad Feld, State Senator Rollie Heath, entrepreneur Doug Emerson of University Bicycles, and Pangea Organics Founder Joshua Onysko.
Social & Philanthropy Committee
Philanthropy: Boulder 2140 is dedicated to local philanthropic activities that support community, environment and culture. Our goal is to create our own sense of community while developing the skills to be successful at giving back with integrity, empathy and simplicity. Partners have included Crayons to Calculators, Attention Homes, YWCA of Boulder County, and First Descents.
Social & Cultural Events: Holds events ranging from a night at the Shakespeare Festival to a cocktail party at the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art. Home to monthly happy hours around town, Boulder 2140 provides a medium for aspiring business persons to connect with others and engage in cultural activities within the community.
